I had the opportunity to attend the first Black Candle Makers Conference, held April 21-22 in Santa Monica, California. This two-day event brought together candle makers, industry suppliers, and enthusiasts from all over the country. Attendees had the opportunity to attend presentations from industry leaders, participate in a candle making class, attend the first Candle Ball and network with other professionals in the field.
The event kicked off on the morning of April 21 with a welcome speech from the BCMC organizers, who expressed their excitement to bring together Black Chandlers (candle makers) and suppliers in one place. The Presenters were SixteenSeventeen, Makesy, CLR, General Wax and Candle Delirium. Topics included product photography, industry trends, tips for scaling and running a successful candle business as well as how to get your product into luxury retail shops. The conference also included a Candle Ball Friday evening hosted by Candle Delirium.Â
Day two included a meet and greet brunch, a presentation by General Wax on how color and fragrance impact our products and influence sales. We had the opportunity to walk the warehouse to select the fragrances for our hands on candle making session.Â
One of the highlights of the conference was the networking opportunities that it provided. I was able to connect with other Black candle makers and industry professionals, exchange ideas and business cards, and make valuable connections that can help me grow my business. I also had the opportunity to shop for new vessels and fragrances which I will be launching next month.Â
Overall, the Black Candle Makers Conference was a great success. If you're a black candle maker this conference is definitely worth attending in the future. I left feeling inspired and motivated to continue pursuing my passion for candles and home fragrances as well as a swag bag!. #2023BCMCWCTO #BlackCandleMakersClub #casualelegancehomefragranceco
